The RESO/RETS Conference Information (Please register below)

The Real Estate Standards Organization will hold the next RESO/RETS Conference in Chicago, IL on Wednesday, August 6th through Friday, August 8th, 2008. The conference will be held at the REALTORS® building, 430 N Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Conrad Chicago Hotel, 521 N Rush Street, Chicago, IL for the nights of August 5th, 6th, and 7th.

To make your room reservations, no later than July 14th, 2008, call Conrad Reservations at (800) 266-7237 and reference the "NAR RETS Meeting" to get the negotiated rate of $199/night single or double occupancy. You may also book online by going to: http://www.conradchicago.com/, selecting "Reservations", and entering "NSS" in the Group/Convention Code at the bottom of the form. This rate is also available 3 nights before and 3 nights after the 3 nights in our block.

If the rates quoted to you are higher than $199/night, make the reservation and send an email to MAdams@realtors.org. We will resolve the rate difference for you. The block of rooms is only available until July 14th. After that date, the availability and rate are not guaranteed.

On the first day (August 6th), the conference will start at 10:30am. Developers will also be able to test products for compliance, and test for interoperability of their software during the Compliance Testing & "Plugfest". Also on August 6th, there will be a "New to RETS" session that has been very popular at pasts conferences. There will also be sessions on "RETS Data Mapping Tools", "Implementation", and "RETS Solutions". As usual, the "RETS Exhibition" will begin at 4:15pm and a "Welcome Reception" at 5:30pm.

On the second day (August 7th) there will be a number of informational sessions to help educate the community, and several working sessions. Voting will be held for Change Proposals, and acceptance of the Property Schema & RETS 1.7.1.

The third day (August 8th) will include several workgroup sessions that are intended to be interactive and informational. Attendees should be prepared to assist in discussing and improving the RETS process and standard.

Attendees with a business focus should plan on attending the first 2 days of the conference. Attendees with a Technical focus should plan on attending all three days (especially if involved with the workgroups on day 3).

NAR will provide lunch on the 6th. NAR will also provide breakfast and lunch on the 7th and 8th. You will be responsible for transportation to the meeting, hotel room charges and dinners.
